Achilles is an entrepreneur and technology professional originally from the city of Brasília, Brazil, who has been living in the United States for about 8 years.
From the start of his professional life, he worked in various government agencies at the district and federal levels in Brazil. Known as a dynamic generalist in computer programming languages and system development methodologies, he was deeply involved in the early days of the internet in the 90’s in Brasília while working at the Department of Finance and Planning.
Among the various federal agencies he worked for, it’s worth mentioning his role in creating the “Projeto Alvorada” portal, an important tool for measuring the social efficiency of government programs under President Fernando Henrique. In this project, he successfully presented the system to then-Chief of Staff Minister Pedro Parente, receiving unanimous approval for the system’s creation.
He was a Judicial Expert for over 10 years, responsible for creating detailed reports that assisted various judges in making decisions based on impartial positions and technical analyses regarding to technology.
His choice to pursue a degree in Business Administration with a focus on foreign trade and a Master’s in Financial Management with an emphasis on capital markets propelled his career in the economic sector. He served as the Technology Manager at Novinvest CTVM in the cities of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
Subsequently, with an entrepreneurial spirit, he opened RPPS Brasil Consultoria in partnership and, later, AGF Special Services. There, he developed technology systems for the financial sector and presented strategies and resource management forms for investment in the Brazilian financial market in over 200 cities. He also received accreditation from the CVM as a Securities Consultant.
Achilles was never satisfied with what Brazil could offer him. In 2018, he chose to migrate to the United States, using a project by a group of cryptocurrency investors. There, he created a system for the automated purchase and sale of crypto assets and arbitration.
Having decided that the United States would be his home, he applied and was approved for the EB-2 visa for people with special abilities, NIW, where the American government recognizes the importance of the professional to the country and does not require that there be a sponsoring company for the granting of the visa.
He anxiously awaits the year 2026, when he will become an American citizen and continue to actively work to improve the society in which he has decided to live.
