Why Sustainable Engineering with Eco2U & E-Leve Hub
Climate stress, resource losses, and infrastructure gaps are creating silent productivity barriers in agriculture and food systems. These losses often remain invisible until they become catastrophic:
- a tank failure that destroys years of genetic investment,
- a heat wave that cuts honey production and weakens entire bee colonies.

UnderstandingThe Projects
Cryogenic Tank IoT Monitoring:
In Brazil alone, over 24 million bovine semen doses are sold every year, fueling genetic improvement in beef and dairy herds. However, a large portion of this value is at risk:
- An estimated 400,000–600,000 cryogenic tanks are currently in use.
- Up to 30% of stored genetic material can be lost due to poor monitoring and technical failures.
- Financial losses can range from R$1,000 to R$650,000 per tank, considering semen and embryos, plus indirect costs (hormonal protocols, veterinary teams, labor, and lost reproductive windows).

E-Leve Apis:
Pollinators are at the heart of food security and biodiversity. Yet, in many regions, increasing heat waves and insufficient shade are silently undermining honey production and colony health.
In Brazilian beekeeping:
Above 34°C internal hive temperature, bees must abandon nectar collection to perform emergency ventilation.
Between 6,000 and 16,000 bees per hive can be diverted from foraging to fan their wings and cool the colony.
This “thermal tax” on the colony leads to structural productivity losses: 13.7–16.1% of annual honey yield can be lost to heat stress.
At national scale, this represents up to 9,744 tons of honey per year, equivalent to roughly R$195 million in lost value.
